Abstract - In order to meet the requirements of intelligentwindows in intelligent buildings, combined with PLC’s high reliability, advanced control technology and touch screen’s friendly interface, easy and flexible configuration programming, we designed the power window control system of intelligent machines based on the PLC and touch screen. Satisfactory results have been obtained through simulation experiments and commissioning. The working principle, hardware construction, software program and function characteristics of the designed intelligent window control system were expounded in detail. The designing of fire associated control functions, skylight communication abnormalities alarm and power down when system running overtime were unique in this paper. The intelligent windows control system has the characteristics of running smoothly, safety, high and reliability, it provides a good solution for smart windows.Index Terms - PLC, Touch-screen, Intelligent window control system, Configuration technology College of Electrical and ElectronicEngineering,ChangchunUniversity of Technology,Changchun,130012,Chinamail:was to set up five control areas and each one controls five windows respectively, in each control area was to set up a PLC. INTRODUCTIONWith the development of science and technology, the improvement of living standards and the increasing demands of the living and working environment, more and more factories, and houses start using smart window systems. For some high-rise buildings such as factory buildings, shopping malls, airports, railway stations and other buildings using traditional methods of mechanical or manual window operating are inconvenient, large attrition, high cost and low efficiency. Accordingly, in the context of the development of architectural design toward automation, intelligent and environmental protection and energy saving, this paper provides an control system based on OMRON CP1E plc and MCGS embedded configuration software [1], making use of PLC’s strong function, anti-interference ability ,high reliability, flexible programming, simple wiring and touch screen’s friendly interface with easy, flexible configuration and programming, etc,
this intelligent control system has the characteristics of running smoothly, safety, high reliability and perfectly makes up the traditional manual switch windows’ defects.II.
LAYOUT OF THE CONTROL SYSTEMTaking the skylight of an engine factory for specific object and according to the arrangement of roof skylights, we set up six control areas, the 18 meters window frame was taken as one control area which controls four windows, the 162m window frameFig.1. CONSTITUTES OF MONITORING SYSTEMTo meet the requirements of the control system, facilitate the operator on duty to read the states of the windows and implement operation using the technology of combination of PLC and touch screen to build a distributed monitoring system [2].The system mainly included the host computer (touch-screen)and the lower computer (one master and five slave PLC). The system’s communications included RS-232 serial port communication between screen and the main station [3] and the RS-422A/485 serial communication between the main and the slave station (needto be installed option board CP1W-CIF11). CP1E N-type CPU uses serial communication [4] which only need to be set communication setting on the master and slave PLC, do not require special programming, which is convenient and easy for using . Block diagram of Control system is shown in Figure 2.stations on the network, the distribution data area are undefined in all nodes. (2) All the CPU units send data to the same address of other CPU units. According to unit number, the data is send between the regions which assigned to the main and the slave station. Te Lower ComputerLower machine adopted Omron’s CP1E N30, the small and new series PLC of the company. The controller has the characteristics of compact structure, good scalability, command powerful, and inexpensive. According, it has become the ideal controller of contemporary small-scale control project.CP1E N30hprogramming software can be easily programmed, commissioned and monitored for PLC in Windows’ environment, which makes the PLC programming more convenient and faster. It can be said, CP1E N30 can be the perfect fit for a variety of small-scale control systems.The lower computer is responsible for sending the states of the window/sensor single to the host computer for real-time displaying and receiving PC control instructions at the same time.Lower computer system consists of six CP1E plc communicating through PLC serial connection, which using 1: N communication mod. In this model you can connect up to eight nodes which can fully meet this system’s requirements. Here takes one PLC as main station and the others works as slave stations, they connected by RS-422A/485 port. Completing PLC settings in the CX-Programmer and download it to the CPU unit by the programming cable.1) The Settings Are As Follows: Main station Settings:?Communication baud rate:115,200 bps, the format:7.2E, mode select: the PC connecting main station. ?????????ing word is set to 10.????????????ing mode uses the main station model. ? Maximum NT / PC connecting is set to 4
Slave station settings:????????????????????????:115,200 bps. the format:7.2E.mode select: the PC connecting slave station. ? PC Connecting Unit No: 0 ~4. 2) Data Refresh Way:Here, we adopts all-station connecting mode, in this mode the main station and the slave station both can reflect all the nodes’ data in the serial PLC link. Serial PLC Link words: CIO200 ~ CIO289 (each CPU unit is assigned up to 10 byte), communication characteristics in this mode: (1) for the nonexistent address of slaveh Fig.3. Te Host ComputerPC using the Kunlun-state TPC1262H color touch screen, TPC1262H is a set of low-power embedded CPU core (clocked at 400MHZ) the integration of high-performance embedded industrial computer. The product is designed with a 12.1-inch high-brightness TFT LCD display (resolution 800 * 600), and has a good electromagnetic shielding. Beautiful rugged aluminum structure. It also comes with Microsoft's embedded real-time multitasking operating system WinCE.NAT and MCGS embedded configuration software[5]. Full Chinese control configuration software MCGS used to quickly construct and generate the configuration control system ,MCGS provides the user from device drivers, data acquisition to data processing, alarm processing, process control, animation, report output solve practical engineering problems such as a complete solution and development platform. PC screen in an intuitive graphical way, on the other hand, control data will be sent to hardware device by configuration requirements and operator instructions, making the executing agency to implement control or adjusting the control parameters. The PC is responsible for completing all the control signal acquisition, processing and outputting control signals to the drive to control equipments operation. At the same time, PC receives the signals of equipment status from the PLC through the RS232 serial port.1) System InterfaceIn order to make the intelligent window control system to achieve the optimal operation, monitoring system designed by the composition of a series of vivid and intuitive interface, relying on database interrelated to provide a wealth of information and full interactive features for the operator. The main interface of intelligent window control system is as follows: login screen,operation screen, the alarm screen, company profiles and help interface.The main interface: for the operator to monitor and operate the Skylight. Logging in the main interface炻you can control single window’s on/off through pressing the corresponding button on the screen, When pressing the button &Skylight full on / off& on the screen, all the Skylight can be opened/closed. The light next to the Skylight number has three colors: red / black / green corresponding to three kinds of current status of Skylight: off / half open / full. The skylight alarm area of this interface can display the system’s communication error status in real time: including communication error between screen and main station or the main station and the slave station. The power supply function of this System is unique. When there is an action (click) on the touch screen, the system gets 1 minute of electric power, the screen shows the timing window of time. If there is no action during the time, after the time, the electrical power is cut off, but if there is action during the time, the system will time again. This technology can prevent the accident damage to the mechanical components and the motor when the limit switch failure or the motor was stuck. It can be a very good protection for the system. This system adopted real-time monitoring technology, realizing real-time monitoring all the operating parameters of the system through the configuration software MCGS. According, all the status of the Skylight and the communication can be displayed on the monitoring screen, so the operator can easily and quickly understand the present states of Skylight. Alarm recording can record nearly a month Skylight alarm details.Fire alarm control functions: the controller equipped with fire alarm interface which was connected to the fire system through fire I/O modules. When fire alarm signal occurring, the controller opens the skylight automatically and sends out signal to fire control center. Fire On/off alarm input is used to monitor fire alarm signals, when a fire alarm signal inputted then the corresponding light turns red. Recovering after the fire alarm signal disappears. The monitoring system has different permissions for operators with different authority, which makes to ensure the security of system operation effectively. The next, will focus on the innovation of thispaper.In order to facilitate user understanding the current communication status between the interconnected workstations and ensure the safety of the system when the limit switch failure or motor was stuck, so the following functions were provided:?Communication Error Alarm unction: (a) The communication status between the screen and PLC. The specific setting: creating variable &communication status& in real-time database is to read &communication status& of acquisition channel, when the flag of &communication status& is 0 indicating that the communication is normal, so the flag equals to 1 indicating that communication failure. Therefore, the alarm value is set to 1. (b) The communication status between the main and slave station. In the main CPU unit, we gets communication status of the slave station (ON: communication implementation/OFF: communication non-running ) which connected by Serial PLC links through the flag of communication status between the serial port and slave station A394.00 ~ A394.07(corresponds to the slave unit number 0~7).The specific setting: establishing data group &warning& (data19-data23) in real-time database of the host computer is to read data contained in the address &A394.00 ~ A394.04& which corresponding to the communication status of slave station 0~4. The alarm value is set to 0. When detecting that, &communications status bit& equal to 1 or the flag of communication status of slave station equal to 0 (status: OFF), the screen will display of communication alarm and show the number of slave station unconnected to master station through the &Alarm Viewer& in the operating interface, as shown in Figure 4.??Power Down when System Running Overtime function: the timer timing after an action(click) taking place on the screen, timing 1minuter (no operation on the screen during the time) then cut off power supply(1minuter is the right time for windows open/closed). If there is action on the screen during this 1 minute, then times again. It is a very good protection for the system. This technology achieved through the MCGS’s script program. The special setting: Open the &main screen& interface, right-click and Fselect the Click event, then open the script editor, enter thefollowing statements. Configuration process is shown as follows. CONCLUSIONSCompared with the traditional mechanical/manual methods, the present window control system using advanced drive technology and control systems has achieved the function of overload protection, power down protection, and mechanical self-locking etc. In this paper, the technology of communication error alarm can solve the faults in advance. Besides, the technology of power down when system running overtime could provide a very good protection for the system. This system has the characteristics of low noise, smooth operation, safety and reliability. The advantage of this system are, beautiful appearance, small size, low-power, flexible, smooth transmission, low noise, easy operation and so on. It is very suitable for controlling windows on the roof of the industrial buildings, shopping malls, airports, railway stations and other large buildings. The design of the extensions interface, rain sensor interfaces are to meet the needs of different customers.Currently, the system has been used in actual production, through field application, the controller working very well to achieve the desired purpose. The function of easily be expanded and upgraded, makes the system own promotional value.
