So awful, it's almost hilarious
With the quality of televisions that Samsung produces, you expect this app to be another thing of beauty.
Unfortunately, it is really just awful.
Where the TVs are great, this app looks like it was designed by a couple of high school kids for a summer programming project in Seoul.
Things that work one minute suddenly disappear.
Network devices are suddenly unavailable for no apparent reason.
Navigate to videos and see your photo album folder list.
Should I mention the non-sensical error messages?
Given that their is no love lost between Samsung and Apple maybe they are just not putting any effort into it but man it sure makes Samsung look like they don't care for their customers.
Hope they get their act together soon.
For now, this is just embarrassing.
Didn't work for me either
I was very excited when I first learned of the ability to project from my iPhone to my Samsung TV. Alas, like so many others said, this app was completely dead on arrival. After seeing the commentary, I didn't even bother with technical support or searching the web for answers. Samsung, if you're paying attention, just stop playing this joke on us. The irony is that my brother-in-law, an IT specialist, HAS a Samsung phone and he couldn't get the app to work with the TV either. Granted, he also didn't try too hard after the initial difficulties. But it shouldn't be this hard given the concept and the instructions are pretty simple. Oh well!I would rate this app a ZERO if I could, but it seems a minimum of 1 is required.
Works fine as a simple remote
I'm using an iPhone 5 & 6 on 2014
H6400 and other than it telling me I need to download the older version ( which told me to download this version (#2) first.
It works fine for basic functions like numeric channel entry and volume controls. It also has a button that turns my Fios STB on and off which was problematic with the ir blaster that came with the smart tv.
Get info, ch up & down, numeric entry, and power for both devices work great. I have updated all software on my tv and iphone. Handy and free. *Make sure your phone is signed on to the same wifi network that the TV is set up on.
