铜川位于陕西省中部，处于关中平原向陕北黄土高原的过渡地带,是关中经济带的重要组成部分，介于东经108°34′-109°29′、北纬34°50′-35“34′之间，是陕西省省辖市。交通便利,是通往人文初祖黄帝陵及革命圣地延安的必经之地，距西安市区 68公里、距西安咸阳国际机场72公里,西安至黄陵高速公路穿境而过，咸铜、梅七两条支线铁路与陇海大动脉相连。铜川市总人口数为86万，其中非农业人口45万人，城镇人口占全市总人口的53%，面积3882平方公里。全市下辖宜君县、王益区、印台区、耀州区和省级经济技术开发区--新区。　　 [铜川市树]：合欢树　　 [铜川市花]：玫瑰花　　 [铜川市鸟]：画眉鸟【铜川自然资源】　　 铜川自然资源丰富，有利于农、林、牧综合发展。现拥有林地面积244.45万亩，牧草地152.07万亩。铜川已查明矿产9种、非金属矿产资源5种，金属矿产2种，能源矿产2种。其中煤炭储量30多亿吨，辖铜川和焦坪两个自然矿区， 井田总面积387.2平方公里，地质储量11.15 亿吨，可采储量7.37亿吨。铜川矿区有东坡、鸭口、金华山、王石凹、桃圆等矿，开采石炭二叠纪煤田，系太原组5#、10# 煤层，地质储量4.31亿吨，可采量2.66亿吨，为中高变质的焦煤、瘦焦煤、瘦煤，应用基低位发热量20-23.5 兆焦，全硫在1.5-2.5% ，灰粉26-35%，主要用于电力和其它工业；焦坪矿区有陈家山、下石节、焦坪和在建的玉华井，开采陕北侏罗纪煤田，系延安组4-2#煤层，地质储量6。84亿吨，可采量 4.71亿吨，应用基低位发热量21.5-24 兆焦，全硫都在1 以下，灰粉10-16%，为优质动力用煤，也可用于民用.铜川优质石灰石储量10亿吨，油页岩储量5亿多吨,耐火粘土、陶瓷粘土等储量居全省前列；处在全国苹果最佳优生区，苹果种植面积40万亩。　　 铜川属暖温带大陆性气候，年平均日照2345.7－2412.5小时，年均降水量555.8－709.3毫米，年均气温8.9－12.3℃，冬季寒冷，夏季炎热。铜川境内现有野生动物68种，其中被列为国家规定的二类保护动物有金钱豹、麝和水獭3种，有野生种子植物645种。

　　铜川市位于陕西省中部，属关中盆地和陕北高原的交接地带。其境东和东南方向与渭南市的蒲城县、白水县、富平县接壤，西和西南与咸阳市的旬邑县、淳化县、三原县毗邻，北部同延安市的黄陵县、洛川县相连。境内最低海拔543米，为耀州区下高埝乡陈坪村；最高海拔1741米，为耀州区照金镇尖坪村，平均海拔1132米。行政区域面积3881.1平方千米。 截至2018年底，铜川市辖耀州区、印台区、王益区、宜君县。　　铜川市地处鄂尔多斯台地与渭河断陷盆地的过渡地带，横跨两个地质构造单元，地貌复杂多样，山、川、原、梁、峁、台塬、沟谷、河川均有分布。纵观全境，大致可分为西部子午岭山地区、北部黄土高原丘陵区、中部黄土残原沟壑区、东南部渭北北山地区和南部川原区5个地貌区。　　铜川市属暖温带大陆季风气候，主要特点是四季分明，冬长夏短，雨热同季，灾害较为频繁。气候区可分南部台塬温暖半干旱、中东部残塬温和半湿润和西北部山地温凉湿润3个气候区。　　铜川市山高沟深，河流均是源头或上游，境内河流分为石川河和洛河两大水系。其特点是：流程短，水量少，水位低，比降大，易涨落，能利用者甚微。　　铜川市自然资源丰富，境内矿产资源种类多、储量大、品位高。铜川矿产资源总量为47.2亿吨，保有资源量36亿吨。全市煤炭储量34.7亿多吨，保有储量为26.9亿吨；水泥用灰岩矿产储量为9.93亿吨；水泥配料用黄土矿储量9025万吨，保有储量8813万吨；耐火黏土和陶瓷黏土保有储量分别为3398.9万吨和347万吨；油页岩资源量6.77亿吨；煤层气预测资源量为300多亿立方米，是西北地区重要的能源建材基地。　　铜川市人杰地灵，物华天宝，文化底蕴深厚，境内名胜古迹众多，是“药王”孙思邈、唐代书法家柳公权、史学家令狐德棻、北宋山水画家范宽等历史名人的故里。炉火千年不息的耀州窑、唐初三代帝王避暑行宫和玄奘法师译经圆寂地玉华宫、千古名胜药王山、佛教圣地大香山寺等人文景观闻名于世。1933年，刘志丹、谢子长、习仲勋等老一辈无产阶级革命家在此创建西北第一个山区革命根据地——陕甘边照金革命根据地。此地现已成为全国爱国主义教育基地、国防教育基地和100个红色旅游经典景区之一。　　（摘自《陕西年鉴》2019）');
